Job summary
A leading children's care provider is seeking a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in ensuring high-quality care and a safe environment for children. The ideal candidate will have experience in a residential home, possess leadership skills, and be knowledgeable about regulatory requirements. As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the children’s home, ensuring high-quality care and a safe, nurturing environment for the children.
Shift patterns: Some nights may be required to fit around staff and children. Day and night shifts run from 8am to 8:30pm.
- Support the Registered Manager in overseeing operations and compliance with Ofsted regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff to maintain high care standards.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for children with mental health needs.
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
- Support with rota planning, recruitment, and staff development.
- Experience working in a children’s residential home (senior or leadership experience preferred).
- Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Children’s Home Regulations 2015.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards Level 5).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A passion for helping young people thrive in a safe, caring home environment.
