HR Manager (Generalist) – Hull / East Yorkshire
Location: Hull area, with regular travel to other local sites
Working pattern: Mainly on-site, 1 day WFH per week
Salary: Up to £45,000 + benefits
Contract: Permanent, full-time

What you’ll be doing
Strategic HR leadership
- Partner with senior leaders to align HR strategy with commercial goals
- Use people data and metrics to inform decision making
- Support organisational design and workforce planning across sites
Talent acquisition & onboarding
- Lead end-to-end recruitment across operational and technical roles
- Manage agency relationships and hiring manager partnerships
- Design and deliver structured onboarding programmes
Employee engagement & culture
- Drive initiatives that improve engagement, wellbeing and retention
- Promote a positive, inclusive culture across multiple locations
- Manage the full employee lifecycle from start to finish
Performance & development
- Oversee appraisals, goal setting and performance frameworks
- Coach managers on difficult conversations and development planning
- Coordinate statutory and professional training requirements
ER, policy & compliance
- Provide expert ER advice on grievances, disciplinaries and conflict resolution
- Maintain HR policies, handbook and contractual documentation
- Ensure compliance with employment law and best practice
About you
You’ll suit this role if you are confident, hands‑on and comfortable working across several sites in a male-dominated engineering environment.
Essential
- CIPD Level 3 (Level 5 preferred or in progress)
- Proven experience across the full employee lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of employment law, recruitment and performance management
- Experience writing and implementing HR policies
- Confident communicator at all levels
- Full UK driving licence
