Title: Business Development Manager – Grocery & High‑Street Retail Fixtures (FF&E)
Location: Hybrid – UK national travel (2days Midlands HQ, 3days field)

Heartbeat Manufacturing is a fast‑growing UK designer&maker of sustainable shop‑fitting, furniture and fixtures for supermarkets, convenience and specialist retail. Backed by in‑house R&D and a 150,000sqft factory, we deliver modular counters, self‑checkout housings and display systems at scale with industry‑leading speed and ESG credentials.
The Role
We’re looking for a proactive closer to drive fixture roll‑out growth across grocers, discounters and high‑street chains. You’ll manage named retail groups and their preferred shop‑fit contractors through the full sales cycle – from first contact to multi‑site framework contract.
What You’ll Do
- Map and target ~60 priority accounts (Next, Boots, Greggs, etc. Plus the big brands and upcoming brands) in HubSpot ABM.
- Build relationships with property, format development and procurement teams, plus tier‑1 shop‑fitters.
- Lead discovery, onsite surveys and ROI modelling for counter & fixture packages £250k–£5m.
- Coordinate internal designers/estimators to deliver visuals and value‑engineered quotes within 72h.
- Secure pilot store installs and convert successful pilots into regional/national roll‑outs.
- Exceed monthly KPIs: ≥12 meetings, ≥£1.2m new pipeline, ≥1 proposal per week.
- Report weekly progress and forecast accuracy to Sales Director & MD.
- 5+yrs selling retail fixtures / shop‑fit / POP displays to supermarkets or convenience formats.
- Black book within Major High street retailers and brands such as M&S, Frasers, Aldi, Lidl, Boots, Nandos, Coffee chains, Kingfisher group, Sky, Castore, football stadiums, etc.
- Fluent with HubSpot CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and digital storyboard tools.
- Commercial acumen: can present lifecycle cost savings & negotiate margin‑protecting deals.
- Energetic, solutions‑led and passionate about sustainable materials and rapid deployment.
- £40k basic + uncapped commission (upto 4% of all new revenues) £100k+
- Car allowance, pension, 25days leave.
