Job description

The North Tyneside Council Adult Social Care Community Wellbeing Teams are going through an exciting redesign and expansion. This includes the creation of a new management structure, featuring Team Manager and Assistant Manager roles.

If you're a frontline manager looking to lead a team for the first time, or an experienced team manager looking to lead positive change, this might be the opportunity you're looking for.

The community Wellbeing Teams work with a wide range of adults who draw on care and support, including older adults, younger adults with physical disabilities and neuro‑divergent people.

You will supervise 2-3 Assistant Managers, supporting them to develop the quality of practice within your team, monitoring performance against targets, and overseeing the most complex safeguarding and court work. You will be inspiring and supportive, as well as having the to challenge.

We are looking for people with a strong understanding of data, who are passionate about bringing strategic vision into operational reality. You will have deep expertise in social work law, practice and policy.

We have remodelled our teams to work efficiently: the Assessment and Support planning team specialises in providing short‑term proportionate support; the CORE team focuses on longer‑term collaborative risk management and trauma‑informed practice; and the Review team supports people with ongoing needs, harnessing equipment and technology to promote inclusion and independence for longer. We will match you to your team based on your skills and knowledge to help you thrive.

We will support you with your career ambitions: we're incredibly proud to have come 2nd in the country for social worker satisfaction in the 2025 Employee Standards Health Check. We achieved a "Good" rating in our recent CQC inspection, which highlighted our positive organisational culture and investment in professional development. Check out our Careers Brochure in the documents to find out more about how we support people in leadership.

We would love to hear from you - if you would like an informal discussion about these opportunities please contact below.
