A leading foodservice provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee food safety and quality standards across the Depot. Responsibilities include leading audits, implementing quality procedures, and managing a small team. The ideal candidate will hold a HACCP or Food Safety qualification and have experience with the BRCGS Standard. This role offers numerous benefits, including holiday, pension matching, and health plans for you and your family.
As part of Bidfood, the Oliver Kay hub depots specialise in fresh produce and serve both their own customers and the wider group with fresh chilled goods. The Bradford site runs a seven‑day operation with a six‑day delivery service to customers. As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will report to the Depot Technical Manager and have direct responsibility for food safety and quality standards across the Depot. You will lead and motivate a small but effective team that is heavily involved with day‑to‑day operations across the site. You will lead GFSI & customer audits, implement quality procedures, and ensure high standards are maintained to meet all quality, legal and customer requirements. You will challenge and develop the current site Quality Management System, proactively identify and highlight areas of non‑compliance, and work with the depot’s management team to effectively resolve any issues found. You will be expected to build strong relationships across departments within the site and with technical teams at the other two Oliver Kay sites. You will oversee the inspection and quality management of all stock receipted, stored and dispatched, complete departmental KPI’s and period reviews, champion and continue to improve the site’s food safety & quality culture, and oversee the investigation of quality and safety complaints to ensure timely response and the completion of corrective action.
