The General Manager will provide strategic leadership on site to achieve operational excellence across all aspects of our people, financials, operations, and processes. The goal is to enable an efficient and cost-effective service from the Stoke site.
- Full financial responsibility for the site.
- Manage all site performance to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement programs to maintain a competitive service level.
- Liaise with central functions such as HR, Finance, European Operations, and Transport to coordinate operational activities and achieve KPIs and targets.
- Collaborate with the Head of UK Transport on fleet renewals.
- Ensure services are provided within budget; develop and implement action plans to improve operational efficiencies.
- Maintain and enhance service levels for the European Operations team.
- Partner with peers and key contacts across departments to ensure smooth merchandise flow and resolve issues hindering target achievement.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and standards.
- Meet all legal, insurance, and risk management requirements; ensure proper equipment maintenance.
- Participate in operational meetings and provide managers with accurate, relevant information for effective decision-making.
- Proven track record managing a multi-user site with fulfillment, cross-dock, and transportation operations.
- Experience and knowledge of managing transportation operations.
- Familiarity with modern warehouse management systems.
- Ability to promote and manage change effectively.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
