About the role:

At OPAL-RT, we are on the lookout for a self-driven and ambitious Sales Engineer who is ready to contribute to our growing success story. This role offers the chance to explore new markets and build lasting relationships with customers across the UK and Ireland. As a key member of our team, you'll bring your exceptional communication, organizational, and teamwork skills to a dynamic, fast-paced environment where innovation and collaboration thrive.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about business growth and client relationships. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in expanding our footprint, with a medium-term goal of establishing an office in Birmingham, contributing to our strategic growth in the region.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Analyze and implement strategies to unlock new business opportunities.
2. Actively prospect and engage with new customers through targeted outreach.
3. Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients.
4. Represent OPAL-RT at conferences, trade shows, and industry events.
5. Craft high-value technical-commercial proposals.
6. Present and demonstrate cutting-edge products and services to potential clients.

You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from Canada and other global locations. Travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe (at least 25%) will be an exciting part of your role.

What We're Looking For:

1. A versatile, self-motivated individual with a thirst for learning and growth.
2. 2 to 5 years of industry experience, ideally in Power Systems & Power Electronics.
3. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (a master's in power systems is a plus).
4. A strong interest in simulation technology and business development.
5. Willingness to travel and engage in professional events.
6. Comfort interacting with customers at various levels, from technical to commercial.
7. Someone who confidently engages with customers, asking thoughtful questions about their decisions while providing valuable insights and education on the technology.
8. Ability to work with different partners across the UK and Europe to grow the business & tackle different industries such as Aerospace and Automotive.
