Job description
About The Role

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineer and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall.

We’re looking for a Senior Sustainability Advisor to join our Route Wide Environment Team based in Milton Keynes.

In this role, you will be managing and overseeing the sustainability advisor functions related to carbon and BREEAM. You will be responsible for meeting client contract requirements for sustainability and reporting, including timely submission of those related to PMU5, responsible sourcing and waste management performance. You will be responsible for ongoing performance review, data reconciliation and interfacing with those responsible for PMU5 data sources, including supply chain and internal EKFB project delivery teams, to ensure accurate and timely capturing of data.

Part of this role is sustainability tool training and onboarding, as well as providing ongoing support to users. You will support BREEAM- and carbon advisor functions in the daily undertaking of duties, including during internal and external reviews, audits and verifications. You will be responsible for the ongoing delivery of sustainability aspects of the EKFB environmental strategy.

In addition, you will manage key client stakeholder relationships – data and reviewer teams – and also manage key internal stakeholder relationships with interfacing functions. You will oversee ongoing implementation of the EKFB EMS, including review and updating of route‑wide standards and plans, and provide support during ISO14001 internal and external audits. You will review sustainability data, including waste management, water and energy consumption, to identify organisational trends and risks.

About Us

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing, and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. Our scope of the works includes 15 viaducts, 5km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 67 overbridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation.

EKFB is committed to improving lives, communities and the engineering and construction industry by providing sustained employment opportunities and being a good neighbour, protecting the environment and the places we work.

If you would like to be part of our collaborative, enthusiastic and forward‑thinking culture, then please apply today.

In return, we’re offering a competitive salary & benefits.

EKFB brings together international, market leading technical expertise. We have an industry leading track record of delivering major infrastructure projects, including Crossrail, the Millau Viaduct, Mersey gateway and the Bretagne‑Pays de la Loire High Speed Rail link.

We are committed to, and strongly believe in, inclusiveness and equality of opportunity.

Everyone who works with EKFB has a contribution to make; we welcome applications from all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. Our aim is to be an exemplar employer of choice and to continue to strengthen our inclusive working environments, where everyone feels they truly belong and are able to bring their whole and authentic selves to work. Many of our people work flexibly and we will be happy to talk with you about how this could work for you.

EKFB is committed to making reasonable adjustments to support our people throughout their employment journey. Please contact us if there are any reasonable adjustments or additional support you might require for making an application.

Please note your CV may be shared with joint venture partners on this project.
