Senior Research Associate - Improving Social Recovery in Psychosis (ISRIP) Study
Ref: RA2377

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate to join the Norwich Medical School to work on the process evaluation component of the Improving Social Recovery in Psychosis (ISRIP) randomised controlled trial, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

The ISRIP trial aims to test the clinical and cost-effectiveness of Social Recovery Therapy (SRT), a psychological intervention designed to support people who have experienced psychosis to engage in structured activities that they find meaningful. The embedded process evaluation involves interviewing service users and their families, therapists and wider stakeholders about their experience of SRT to inform longer‑term implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse and interpret data, write up results and present information on research progress and outcomes.
  • Contribute to grant applications.
  • May be involved in the supervision of researchers and teaching of students within the School.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate level qualification, or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant research area.
  • Experience of independent research and publications in respected journals.
  • Ability to work in a proactive and results‑driven manner in a high‑paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Advanced skills directly relating to this research area and experience teaching small classes or overseeing practices is advantageous.

This part‑time (0.6 FTE) post is available from 2 March 2026 on a fixed‑term basis for a period of 3 years.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Vulnerable Adult Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to vulnerable adults.
