A community-based legal practice in Newham seeks a dedicated Head of Legal Practice/Immigration Solicitor. Responsible for delivering high-quality immigration advice, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and shaping a newly established organization. The ideal candidate will have significant immigration experience and a strong commitment to social justice. This role offers a salary between £52,269 and £55,353, with some flexibility for remote work.
Newham Community Law Project are a newly formed organisation, aiming to launch its legal service in the summer of 2026. NCLP is recruiting a Head of Legal Practice/Immigration Solicitor to join its newly established organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a community-based legal practice from the outset. As our first employee, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality immigration and asylum advice, supervising casework, ensuring compliance with SRA and Legal Aid Agency requirements, and working closely with trustees on strategy, governance, and service development.
We are seeking a qualified solicitor with significant immigration experience, legal aid knowledge, and a strong commitment to social justice and access to justice.

Newham, London (with some flexibility for remote working)
35 hours per week – 5 days a week but with flexibility in hours worked and requirement for occasional evening work
NJC for Local Government Scale Point 37 (£52,269) – Point 40 (£55,353)
