Job summary
A caring support service based in Wolverhampton is seeking a Personal Assistant (PA) to help an individual with complex care needs. To assist with a variety of tasks which enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
Assisting a 56‑year‑old Gentleman who is a wheelchair user with Cerebral Palsy and is non‑verbal, with all aspects of day‑to‑day living. He lives with his family in Wednesfield and is a very pleasant, sociable individual who has a passion for music.
- Social stimulation – attends a Day Centre.
Assist with personal care: transfers using a ceiling hoist, washing, dressing, continence care, monitoring skin integrity, medication support.
Domestic duties
- Laundry, ironing, weekly deep clean of bedroom and wet room and all equipment.
- Meal preparation – all meals are pureed; fluids thickened to reduce choking risk.
- Values: honest, reliable, punctual, non‑judgemental, building trust‑based relationships, flexible, adaptable, easy‑going, independent, positive, willingness to travel, understanding equality & diversity.
- Specific Requirements: previous care experience, clean driving licence desirable, hoist trained, medication trained.
Up to 30 hours a week – applicant must be flexible. AM shifts start at 7 am – 09:45/13:00.
