Job summary

A caring support service based in Wolverhampton is seeking a Personal Assistant (PA) to help an individual with complex care needs. Job Title: Personal assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Employer

Job Purpose

To assist with a variety of tasks which enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the Employer

Assisting a 56‑year‑old Gentleman who is a wheelchair user with Cerebral Palsy and is non‑verbal, with all aspects of day‑to‑day living. He lives with his family in Wednesfield and is a very pleasant, sociable individual who has a passion for music.

  • Social stimulation – attends a Day Centre.
Responsibilities

Assist with personal care: transfers using a ceiling hoist, washing, dressing, continence care, monitoring skin integrity, medication support.

Domestic duties

  • Laundry, ironing, weekly deep clean of bedroom and wet room and all equipment.
  • Meal preparation – all meals are pureed; fluids thickened to reduce choking risk.
