A private family in Crawley is looking for a Personal Assistant to engage with their non-verbal son on the autism spectrum. The role offers flexible working hours, including after school, weekends, and school holidays, with a pay rate of £12.21 per hour. Responsibilities include supervising playtime, assisting with daily personal care, and ensuring safety. The ideal candidate should be patient, reliable, and possess good interpersonal skills. An Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check may be required.
My 8 year old son is looking for a Personal Assistant to supervise and play with him within the family home, so that I can get a break from my caring role. My son is non verbal and on the autism spectrum. He loves coco melon and watching you tube clips on his tablet or TV. He also enjoys playing with magnets, puzzles, Lego and water play in the garden. He likes routine and familiarity so I hope that over time the personal assistant will be able to take him out into the community on his favourite thing, the bus!
He does need constant supervision to stay safe, as well as help and prompting with eating and toileting but he is physically active and enjoys being outside using his trampoline in the garden.
Your help and support would make a real difference to me and my family. Having somebody to be around and engaging in play with him, would mean that I can get on with jobs around the home and give me some well needed time to myself. The work will be flexible and can fit around your other commitments.
Non-smoker due to medical reasons
