We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Information & Governance Officer at Wirral Council on a 2‑year fixed term contract.

About The Programme

Are you passionate about data, compliance, and making a real impact on how organisations handle information? This is your chance to join a forward‑thinking team that’s shaping the future of information governance. As a Graduate Information Governance Officer, you’ll play a vital role in protecting data, ensuring compliance, and supporting innovative projects—including the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.

You’ll play a key role in managing all aspects of information governance, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and reducing information risks to the Council. The role will help strengthen the Council’s information governance culture and support its obligations under data protection and related regulations.

The programme is designed to develop future public Governance professionals by providing a framework to operate within as well as the necessary support to facilitate attainment of a professional qualification. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across a broad spectrum of functions while studying for a Level 4 Governance Officer qualification.

What’s required is an aptitude for learning and a commitment to fulfil on the discipline, determination and dedication needed to achieve a qualification.
