Role Purpose

The Nuclear Equipment Surveyor role requires a combination of administrative and technical skills. In the pre-manufacturing phase the Surveyor will review procedures and inspection plans to establish conformity with international codes and standards and project specific requirements. The Surveyor will need good communication skills both written and verbal in on-line and face to face meetings to explain the findings of the reviews to the manufacturer and the end client. Further attendance at on-line and face to face meetings will be required along with periodic visits to manufacturing locations in the UK and Europe. Technical skills required include welding, materials, heat treatment and NDT. It is recognised that candidates may not be experts in all these topics and the LRQA Nuclear Team has dedicated experts in each of these fields who will provide support. The ability to use and understand international standards such as ASME and BS EN ISO series is vital. Training will be provided on industry specific codes such as RCC-M. This role will be predominantly home based so candidates will need to be comfortable working unsupervised for extended periods. • Attendance at on-line and face to face meetings will be required along with periodic visits to manufacturing locations in the UK and Europe
  • Responsible to attend meetings to explain the findings of the reviews to the manufacturer and the end client.

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Technical skills required include welding, materials, heat treatment and NDT.
