Job summary
A manufacturing firm in the UK is seeking a Compliance Officer to lead and implement QHSE management systems across their facility. The role involves ensuring compliance with ISO standards and requires strong QHSE management experience within manufacturing or engineering. A full driving licence and knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation are essential, with NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications being advantageous.

- Pay: £37,000 per annum
- Hours of Work: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 14:00, 38 hours per week
- Duration: Permanent

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for building and embedding the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) management systems across a manufacturing facility. From system implementation to audits and emergency planning, the role requires an experienced individual who can lead on all aspects of compliance while fostering a safety‑first culture. The Compliance Officer will work across departments to establish quality and safety systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Strong QHSE management experience within Manufacturing or Engineering
- Proven ability to establish systems, policies and procedures for new or scaling operations
- Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation (COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER)
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems including ISO standards
- Experience in environmental compliance and process safety
- Full Driving Licence
- NEBOSH, COSHH or equivalent safety qualifications
- ISO management or auditing qualificationsExperience in steel fabrication, mechanical engineering, or steel manufacturing
- Management of building systems such as alarms and fire safety
- Active involvement in audits and daily reviews with workshop and site teams
