The ideal candidate will have 10 years of relevant experience and be a registered professional working towards chartership. Responsibilities include providing design deliverables and direct oversight of design teams. Responsibilities
- Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
- Prepare design risk assessments, reports, and specifications.
- Direct and develop CAD technicians and junior designers.

Permanent & Contract Full Time Available

Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
- Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team.
- Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
- Prepare design risk assessments, reports and specifications.
- Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.
- Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
- Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
- Estimate hours required for design packages.
- Attend and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar
- 10 years’ relevant design experience in the water industry
- Graduate, HND or significant experience from Technician level
- Good level of IT skills
- Registered with professional body and working towards chartership
- Full time from our office in Trafford House, M32 0RS
- Occasional site visits for which travel expenses will be paid
Possible on occasional basis when required provided agreed in advance. Hybrid possibility after probation at company discretion.
Varied projects across the UK water industry, including:
- Designs of UMON 3 and 4 upgrades at sewage treatment works nationwide
- Designs of clean water main replacements nationwide
- Chartered engineer
- Experience with both clean and dirty water
- Awareness of construction methods and materials
- Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices
