Role description

We are currently seeking personable, enthusiastic, and energetic Quantity Surveyors to join our Cost & Commercial Management team to support our growth within the resilience business for a Global Client in the Water Sector. You will work on a variety of water and utilities projects in Reading and London, delivering transformational outcomes for multiple clients.

Role accountabilities
  • Administer post-contract administration of NEC contracts, including assessment of contractual change and payments.
  • Liaise with external contractors and consultants.
  • Support suppliers in providing accurate and validated Project Cost and Financial Forecasts information.
  • Provide commercial support, advice and guidance through all gateways to minimise cost and scope changes throughout the project life cycle.
  • Offer contract support, advice and guidance.
  • Provide pre-contract support, including estimating and procurement.
  • Support the Client Project Manager in validating costs for the Project Efficiency register.
  • Participate in lessons‑learned workshops to capture value, benefits, and considerations for future projects.
  • Participate in risk and value management meetings as required.
  • Audit and agree on Final Accounts.
Other requirements
  • Hybrid working with requirements for client travel between London and Reading areas.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Self‑management and prioritisation skills to work under pressure.
  • Ability to learn and develop continuously.
  • Good knowledge of construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting.
  • Experience with NEC contracts.
  • Ability to support the internal team and manage more junior staff on projects ranging between £1m and £20m.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties.
  • Ideally a degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Ideally appropriate professional body membership, MRICS or working towards chartership.
  • Desirable experience in water and wastewater and/or regulated industries.
