CMDP+ is looking to strengthen their Design teams on our Southern Water Framework. MWH Treatment and Costain Group are part of the CMDP+ joint venture that will deliver a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works within the South and Southeast regions. We are looking for Design Engineers (all levels) with Water or Wastewater experience and one or more of the following: civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) background.
Responsibilities
- Production and checking of tendering and design deliverables, aligned with your technical discipline, to meet project needs and client requirements.
- Coordinating project work activities between team members – such as interdisciplinary reviews.
- Engaging and leading technical reviews, meetings and presentations to support scope delivery and closing out of technical actions.
- Completion of work packages to cost, time, and quality targets, managing change and other resources or people as required to achieve this.
- Supporting others in the project team and wider Costain to ensure project and corporate outcomes are achieved, particularly Costain sustainability targets; support project reporting data such as KPIs and carbon metrics.
- Collaborating and ensuring learning is shared, proactively challenging and celebrating safety performance.
- Collaborating with suppliers, other designers, construction team and similar stakeholders to produce a robust and safe design output.
Essentials – Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Design engineering experience within Mechanical, Civils, Electrical or ICA.
- Water/Wastewater experience.
- Ability to manage resources as required.
- Ability to accurately report progress, risk, opportunities, and change.
- Ability to lead design meetings, deliver presentations, and manage group discussions.
- Understanding of sustainable design essentials.
- Ability to work accurately and deliver to promise, predict and report potential challenges to delivery.
- Active learning and sharing of best practice into the discipline team.
- Ability to support estimate development – scoping, hours, risks, and assumptions.
- Working knowledge of UK regulatory framework associated with the technical discipline, e.g., CDM, Electrical, Environmental, Process.
Qualifications (Essential)
- Progressing towards a Chartered professional review with a relevant chartered body such as ICE or CIWEM.
- Degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, ICA).
- Valid driving licence.
