Job summary
A prominent NHS hospital trust in Barking, Havering and Redbridge is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, working across various assessment units and engaging in on-call duties to ensure exemplary patient care. Candidates must have full GMC registration, an MRCP qualification, and at least 12 months of UK experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing Acute Medicine service within a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- Must be a fully registered GMC practitioner with a valid license.
- MRCP qualifications required within specified timelines.
- Must hold an ALS qualification.
Responsibilities
- Join a dynamic Acute Medicine team across both hospital sites.
- Work across all assessment units including SDEC.
- Participate in the on-call rota to deliver a 7-day service.

We are looking for Senior Clinical Fellows to join an existing dynamic Acute Medicine team across both hospital sites.
The Acute Medical team is continuously expanding with a vision of excellent patient care, quick turnover, improving patient flow, and a robust training facility for trainees and junior doctors.
The post holder will work across all assessment units, including the SDEC unit, and take part in the on‑call rota to deliver a 7‑day service.
The Acute Medicine team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) spans across Queen’s and King George hospitals. Queen’s Hospital has a 30‑bed unit whilst King George Hospital’s site supports SDEC. Units receive patients directly from the Emergency Department via medical on‑call.
After a residential Trust and department induction (including a shadowing period) and an electronic induction pack, post holders will be encouraged to complete mandatory online training.

- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Full MRCP (MRCP 1/11 required, full MRCP within 6 months)
- ALS qualification
- Ability to work independently and supervise junior doctors
- Minimum 12 months UK experience
- Full registration with the General Medical Council
- Full MRCP (Significant experience in Acute Medicine)
- Up to date Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Experience in Acute Medicine
