A leading professional services firm in the UK seeks a finance professional to assist in financial reporting and compliance. The role involves managing month-end processes, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting audit preparations. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience, ideally in legal or professional services, and possess strong organisational and communication skills. The Finance department comprisesapproximately 50 members organised into four main functions beingFinancial Control, Working Capital, Business Finance and Pricing,each headed by a senior team leader reporting to the CFO. Duties and Responsibilities include butnot are limited to the following:
- Assist with the month end close process,including maintenance of balance sheet line items such as accrualsand prepayments.
- Maintain accurate and up to datepostings to the general ledger.
- Support compliance with companypolicies, tax, VAT and regulatory requirements.
- Support the production of managementaccounts, variance analysis and KPI reporting.
- Support the business with advice on thecorrect accounting treatment for transactions.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules andresponding to auditor queries.
- Assist in the preparation of thestatutory financial statements.
- Use the organisation's finance systemseffectively and help identify opportunities for process automationor efficiency improvements.
- Respond to internal and external financequeries promptly and professionally
- Qualified or part qualified accountant,or with a strong desire to complete a recognised accountingqualification, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in aprofessional environment.
