Job description

A key role within the finance teamsupporting the finance function by producing accurate financialreports, assisting with preparation of the firm management accounts,and ensuring timely processing of financial transactions. The roleprovides essential support to the Finance Manager and contributes toeffective financial control, compliance and reporting across the business.

The Finance department comprisesapproximately 50 members organised into four main functions beingFinancial Control, Working Capital, Business Finance and Pricing,each headed by a senior team leader reporting to the CFO. ManagementAccounting is a distinct sub-function of Financial Control and iswhere this role sits

The role

Duties and Responsibilities include butnot are limited to the following:

  • Assist with the month end close process,including maintenance of balance sheet line items such as accrualsand prepayments.
  • Maintain accurate and up to datepostings to the general ledger.
  • Support compliance with companypolicies, tax, VAT and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the production of managementaccounts, variance analysis and KPI reporting.
  • Support the business with advice on thecorrect accounting treatment for transactions.
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules andresponding to auditor queries.
  • Assist in the preparation of thestatutory financial statements.
  • Use the organisation's finance systemseffectively and help identify opportunities for process automationor efficiency improvements.
  • Respond to internal and external financequeries promptly and professionally
Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Qualified or part qualified accountant,or with a strong desire to complete a recognised accountingqualification, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in aprofessional environment.
  • Legal or professional servicesexperience an advantage.
  • Experience with VAT regulations beneficial.
