Malpas Church in Wales Primary School is seeking an inspiring, committed and forward‑thinking Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team. We are a happy, inclusive primary school educating children aged 3–11.

The Governing Body is looking for a Deputy Headteacher who will:

• Be committed to promoting the distinctive Christian character and ethos of the school.

This role would suit an ambitious leader who is reflective, values collaboration and is excited by the opportunity to grow within a supportive and experienced governance structure.

Governors are fully committed to supporting the successful candidate and ensuring they are well supported in all aspects of school life, enabling continued success and future development of the school.

The appointment process will include:

• A lesson observation
• Two formal interview days (successful candidates from day 1 invited to day 2)

• Closing Date for Applications: Thursday 22nd January 2026 at 12pm
• Shortlisting: Monday 26th January 2026
• Lesson Observations: 28th January - 6th February
• Interviews: Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th February 2026

Shortlisted candidates will also be invited to visit the school prior to interview.

The successful candidate is expected to commence employment from 1st September 2026 (subject to safeguarding and recruitment checks), or as soon as possible thereafter.

We are obliged to ask you to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. If you are invited to interview, you will be asked to provide appropriate documents such as your full birth certificate/passport/work permit in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
