Description

The CSG Talent Attraction Team are seeking an Early Talent Attraction Assistant to join us on a 6-month fixed term contractto support the growth of the Early Talent element of our Talent Attraction strategy. If you’re a Recruitment, Talent, or HR Administrator/Assistant with a passion for early talent attraction and looking to gain experience to take the next step in your career, this opportunity is for you!

As the Early Talent Attraction Assistant, you will be responsible for providing an excellent recruitment service to our internal stakeholders, external candidates, and internal colleagues and to manage the new joiner process to onboard our new colleagues. The Early Talent Attraction function focuses predominately on recruitment of Paralegals, Claims Handlers, Apprentices, Trainees and Pupillage's.

You will work closely with the Early Talent Attraction Advisor with co-ordination of the day-to-day recruitment process, planning and organisation of Assessment Centres and supporting the transition of successful candidates into the business whilst being a key point of contact for Early Talent Attraction enquires into the team.

You will be an integral part of the CSG Talent Attraction Team, supporting our day-to-day functions supporting the team using innovative thinking and strategic skills analysis to ensure we are able to continue to provide a bespoke market leading client service.

This opportunity will be based out of our Birmingham or Newport offices, with travel requirements to attend Assessment Centres and Careers Fairs (for schools, colleges, and universities) across the UK.

As a team we work on a predominately hybrid basis with office attendance at least 2-3 times a month to support our in-person Assessment Centres and team meetings – this is subject to change at any time, dependant on business needs.

What you will do
  • Support the Early Talent Attraction Advisor with all recruitment activity associated with Early Talent vacancies, such as supporting with interview arrangements, reviewing applications, and conducting pre‑screening candidate calls.
  • Managing candidates via our Application Tracking System (ATS), PinPoint.
  • Support all trainee solicitor recruitment activity for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
  • Support with annual Pupillage application processes for our internal chambers, 8DB.
  • Coordinate candidate assessment activities including, planning and preparation of assessment centres, welcoming candidates and participating in the assessment centres ensuring the smooth running of the day.
  • Process all new joiner activity including creating offer paperwork, setting up and monitoring incoming new colleagues' pre‑employment screening, completing right to work checks, and ensuring new colleagues are set up on the relevant systems required.
  • Effectively manage relationships with schools/colleges and universities ensuring our approach links in with our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy. This will include coordinating and attendance at open day / evening events and career fairs.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with Hiring Managers, Talent Attraction Advisors, People Business Partners and the wider People team.
  • Monitoring the CSG Talent Attraction inbox, managing/signposting queries that are received from prospective candidates and internal colleagues about our early talent offering.
  • Assisting with ad hoc project work, administration, and coordination of new joiner onboarding activities, and collaborate with the wider team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring all Talent Attraction activities are inclusive, complying with GDPR and Employment Law.
Who you are

We are open to applications from candidates who have proven experience of working in an administrative or assistant role within a HR or Recruitment/Talent function, ideally within professional services - if you have legal sector experience, this would be highly desirable but is not essential.

Therefore, if you are;

  • Experienced in working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS),
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about early talent attraction and may have worked in this area previously or within an education careers service or similar,
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deal calmly with deadlines and conflicting priorities,
  • Detail oriented and with high levels of attention to detail,
  • Keen to ensure a positive candidate experience is met,
  • An effective communicator with excellent stakeholder management, able to communicate with colleagues of all levels,
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion in line with legal requirements,
  • Able to demonstrates alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive),
