Working in a fast pace / customer facing environment, meeting and greeting customers and booking their required activities, answering queries on the phone, taking food orders and serving the food to customers, and some kitchen food prep duties if required.

Wage: £15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. Check minimum wage rates (opens in new tab).

Working week will be decided via a rota basis. 40 hours a week.

Duration: 1 year 3 months.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.

You will make our customers feel valued by creating a fun environment for them to enjoy. It's up to us to make sure our customers leave feeling happy, having had a very positive experience. So long as you can provide a warm, helpful manner to everyone you meet, we can teach you the ins and outs of working as part of our busy team.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:

• Giving a warm welcome to our customers and make them feel at home
• Serve customers efficiently at the till – understanding their needs
• Serve amazing food and drinks to high standards and make sure our customers have everything they need
• Maintain, hand over and close down a clean, safe, and fully operational counter area
• Follow all fire safety, health and safety, food hygiene and cafe security measures

Back of house:

• Assist kitchen staff to prepare and assemble food where necessary
• Stock taking and putting away deliveries, reporting low stock levels to management

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

• Handle transactions and payments securely.
• Work as part of a team to ensure that the products and services are delivered on time and in line with business needs.
• Deal with or elevate issues that impact service and customer experience, and implement any instructions given by supervisor.
• Use professional methods of communication that are tailored to different situations, and individual and team needs.
• Manages own time and workload, prioritising tasks.
• Maintain and rotate stock according to life cycle and business processes.
• Ensure equipment and technology faults and maintenance issues are reported promptly.
• Check customers are satisfied with products and services through questioning and act on feedback in line with business procedures.
• Keep up to date with changes to products and processes.
• Uses feedback to improve own performance.
• Reduces the waste of resources, taking sustainability into account, in line with business expectations.
• Follows and supports equity, diversity and inclusion legislation and principles.
• Participate in team briefings, implementing instructions, and offering input or feedback where relevant.

In‑house training plus the candidate will follow a Level 2 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a Level 2 Food and Beverage Team Member. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West.

If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A‑C (9‑4) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 2 Functional Skill in the relevant subject.

Activity for All (formerly JM Sports Coaching) is a Community Interest Company established in 2004 with one sole objective – to increase participation in physical activity for ALL ages. Our team of teachers, coaches, instructors, leaders and other stakeholders strive to engage with all community groups and smash any barriers that prevent participation so everyone can enjoy the lifelong health benefits of regular exercise. We currently work with over 350 schools across North West England and North Wales, over 200 businesses, numerous NHS trusts, sports clubs, colleges and community groups. We also provide a range of activities from our Wirral and Liverpool based sports centres and have our own full‑time study programme for 16‑19 year olds. Activity for All facilitate activity for over 15,000 children and adults each week.
