A community hospice organization in Stroud is looking for experienced Healthcare Assistants to join their Living Well Services team. This part-time role involves providing compassionate care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses, helping them maintain dignity and quality of life. Key responsibilities include personal care, assisting with mobility and nutrition, and engaging patients in therapeutic activities. A reliable, patient-focused approach and a full clean driving licence are essential for this rewarding role.

Skills
We are looking for 2 experienced, caring and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our Living Well Services team at Longfield Community Hospice. This part‑time role supports patients living with life‑limiting illnesses, helping them maintain comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Working under the supervision of an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering compassionate, person‑centred care in our Day Hospice setting.
- Provide personal care and emotional support to Day Hospice patients
- Assist with mobility, hygiene, and nutrition needs
- Support patients to engage in therapeutic and social activities
- Observe and report changes in patients’ condition
- Offer reassurance and practical support to families and carers
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment
- Support individual patients as a key worker, with supervision and guidance
- Assist with therapy‑led activities to promote independence
- Contribute ideas for meaningful activities for patients and carers
- Full training and ongoing supervision
