A cultural organization in Greater London is seeking an experienced Assistant Technical Manager to support the Technical Manager in delivering high-quality commercial events. You will oversee technical team activities, manage equipment setups, and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets. Ideal candidates will have strong organizational and communication skills, along with relevant professional training in the arts. This position requires experience in a supervisory role within the commercial events industry.
The role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Technical Manager, Business Event (ATMBE) to support the Technical Manager in planning, directing and managing the technical delivery of the Barbican Business Events program of over 350 commercial events. The Assistant Technical Manager will primarily support technical team and work in association with the Stage and Projection Teams in all areas of event organisation and technical delivery.
You will assist in overseeing and booking the equipment requirements for all set-ups, soundchecks, rehearsals, use of our recording studio, and get-ins/outs for the Centre’s Business Events activity, all within budget and on time. You will assist in creating the rotas for the technical team shifts.
