# Pest Control Operative (Readvertisement)Ref no:: GLA14748Published:: 16/01/2026Closes:: 01/02/2026Location:: Queenslie Depot, 31 blairtummock road, Glasgow City, G33 4NDSalary:: £28,496.16 - £30,090.03 per yearContract Type:: PermanentPosition Type:: Full TimeHours:: 39.5 hours per week## Job DescriptionAn opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Pest Control Operative to join our Environmental Health team on a permanent basis.NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.If you’re interested in working within a service that touches on all aspects within the city, please read on.**Position Details**The postholder will join a team of Pest Control Officers and contribute to the provision of the pest control service within Environmental Health (including covering dog warden duties when required).Duties will include:* Planning and carrying out site visits/inspections,* Providing advice to the public, businesses, and other stakeholders,* Investigate complaints and service requests (including treating pests as required),* Liaise with other services and organisations.**Experience in the pest control or allied industries, and a current driving licence are essential requirements of this role.** A First Aid certificate is desirable.Officers are provided with all required PPE, ongoing training and have access to a Council van which they may use for home to work travel.**Contract Details**Weekly Hours: 37 + 2.5 hours contractual overtime per weekWork Pattern: Monday – Friday, with weekend standby service provision on a rota basisAnnual Salary: £25,151.16 - £26,745.03 on an incremental scaleAdditional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £2,173, a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £1,172 per annum, and you will also receive a payment in relation to the contractual overtime noted.Please note this is a re advertisement and previous applicants should not re-apply.**Benefits of working with us**Glasgow City Council employees have access to a wide-ranging and generous benefits package.
