Ideal candidates are hands‑on technical leaders with deep understanding of interactive technologies, live environments, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration. You’ll guide teams in designing and delivering immersive digital experiences—AR/VR, gesture‑based interfaces, custom hardware integrations—and collaborate closely with creatives, producers, and designers to bring cutting‑edge experiences to life.

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of innovative software and hardware solutions.
• Provide technical direction, establish best practices, and ensure code quality across all projects.
• Shape the technical roadmap, aligning it with Jack Morton’s creative and strategic goals.

• Mentor and manage software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.

• Act as the senior technical authority on‑site during activations and live experiences.
• Collaborate with production, creative, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Work with a wide range of technologies, from RESTful APIs and creative code to embedded systems like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

• Partner with producers and project managers to define scope, milestones, and resources.
• Track technical progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery.
• Balance innovation with reliability and scalability.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years in software development, with 3+ years leading or managing technical teams.
• Proven ability to deliver large‑scale, high‑quality digital experiences, ideally involving physical or interactive components.
• Strong understanding of QA processes and continuous delivery practices.
• Hands‑on experience in live event support, with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
• Proficiency in one or more core languages: JavaScript (Node.js/React), C#, Python, or C++.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience with Unity/Unreal.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of creative coding (TouchDesigner, Unity, Unreal, openFrameworks) and physical computing.
• Excellent communicator who can bridge technical and creative disciplines.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Calm and decisive under pressure, with a solutions‑oriented mindset.
