Jack Morton is expanding its network of exceptional Technical Leads to shape the future of experiential technology. This role is not tied to a specific project; we seek talented leaders who can guide software development teams and deliver outstanding creative technology experiences that connect digital and physical worlds.

Ideal candidates are hands‑on technical leaders with deep understanding of interactive technologies, live environments, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration. You’ll guide teams in designing and delivering immersive digital experiences—AR/VR, gesture‑based interfaces, custom hardware integrations—and collaborate closely with creatives, producers, and designers to bring cutting‑edge experiences to life.

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of innovative software and hardware solutions.
• Provide technical direction, establish best practices, and ensure code quality across all projects.
• Shape the technical roadmap, aligning it with Jack Morton’s creative and strategic goals.

Team Management

• Mentor and manage software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
• Encourage experimentation and learning while maintaining delivery discipline.
• Conduct reviews, set goals, and promote continuous professional growth.

Quality Assurance & Delivery

• Define and enforce development standards, testing frameworks, and deployment best practices.
• Champion continuous improvement, automation, and efficiency across the development lifecycle.
• Oversee live deployments and technical troubleshooting in event environments.

Live Event & Experiential Technology

• Act as the senior technical authority on‑site during activations and live experiences.
• Collaborate with production, creative, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Work with a wide range of technologies, from RESTful APIs and creative code to embedded systems like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

Project Management

• Partner with producers and project managers to define scope, milestones, and resources.
• Track technical progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery.
• Balance innovation with reliability and scalability.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years in software development, with 3+ years leading or managing technical teams.
• Proven ability to deliver large‑scale, high‑quality digital experiences, ideally involving physical or interactive components.
• Strong understanding of QA processes and continuous delivery practices.
• Hands‑on experience in live event support, with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
• Proficiency in one or more core languages: JavaScript (Node.js/React), C#, Python, or C++.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience with Unity/Unreal.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of creative coding (TouchDesigner, Unity, Unreal, openFrameworks) and physical computing.
• Excellent communicator who can bridge technical and creative disciplines.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Calm and decisive under pressure, with a solutions‑oriented mindset.
