Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Northern Ireland is seeking a PLC Engineer to develop advanced control software for industrial systems. You will design and implement PLC-based control systems, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and improve existing architectures. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electronic/Software Engineering and strong knowledge in PLC programming, especially CODESYS and IEC 61131-3. This role offers an opportunity to impact the automation sector significantly.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronic/Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced in Tier 1 or OEM sectors.
  • Strong PLC programming skills (CODESYS & IEC 61131-3).
  • Skilled in real‑time debugging, control systems, and signal processing.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement PLC-based control software for bespoke systems.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and telematics.
  • Debug, test, and optimise real‑time control loops.
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing architectures.
