MCS Group is recruiting a Band 6 Pharmacist on behalf of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, joining its specialist Healthcare in Prison pharmacy team.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a distinctive environment, supporting patient‑centred pharmaceutical care across a diverse population.

The Role:
  • Interpret prescriptions, complete clinical checks and ensure medicines are safe and appropriate for each patient.
  • Provide accurate medicines information, counselling and therapeutic advice to patients and healthcare staff.
  • Obtain and assess medication histories, including reviewing patient owned medicines for safety and suitability.
  • Deliver prescription monitoring, identify adverse drug reactions and contribute to medicines optimisation.
  • Prepare extemporaneous products in line with GMP and COSHH requirements and carry out final accuracy checks.
  • Support audits, SOP development, quality improvement and promote cost effective prescribing.
  • Participate in rota duties including late shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
The Person:
  • MPharm degree or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of pre registration training and professional examination (Registered or eligible to register with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car, unless exempt under disability legislation.
