Job summary
A leading engineering consultancy in Birmingham is seeking a skilled civil or structural engineer to manage projects and mentor junior engineers. The role involves a mix of individual assignments and teamwork across various engineering tasks. Ideal candidates will possess a Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering, strong technical skills in design standards, and effective communication abilities. This position offers competitive salary and flexible working arrangements, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications
- Strong technical background in steel and reinforced concrete design with relevant UK and international codes.
- Chartered Engineer status and membership of ICE or IStructE is desirable.
- Experience in the electricity supply industry, especially HV substations, is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, develop, and mentor junior engineers.
- Manage technical delivery of civil and structural engineering projects across design phases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Prepare and price technical proposals and scopes of work.
- Conduct condition and structural assessments of existing assets.
- Coordinate design activities across multidisciplinary teams.
- Act as a design lead and support design capability delivery.
