They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Glasgow office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in building services design and a strong track record in mechanical systems. You will work on a variety of projects, delivering high-quality mechanical solutions that optimise energy efficiency, occupant comfort and long-term building performance.

This role provides the opportunity to join a highly skilled and collaborative team, contributing to projects including commercial developments, hotels, healthcare facilities and industrial sites.

• Deliver mechanical building services design including HVAC, heating, ventilation and environmental systems
• Prepare concept and detailed designs, feasibility studies and options appraisals
• Conduct thermal modelling, energy analysis and dynamic simulations to support design decisions
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure designs are practical, efficient and innovative
• Contribute to sustainability strategies including low or zero carbon technologies, water management and energy efficiency initiatives
• Support project delivery with BIM coordination, 3D CAD drawings and technical documentation
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff where applicable

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical building services design
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, heating and environmental systems
• Experience with thermal modelling software, energy simulations and CAD or BIM tools
• Proven ability to deliver projects across commercial, residential, healthcare or industrial sectors
• Understanding of sustainability principles, BREEAM and energy efficiency standards
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills
