A leading IT services provider in Birmingham is looking for a Cloud Technical Architect (Azure) to join its team. The successful candidate will design innovative Azure solutions, ensuring robust and scalable implementations. This hybrid role offers a competitive salary between £70,000 and £85,000, alongside substantial company benefits. Location: Birmingham (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: £70,000 - £85,000 plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid‑for volunteering days a year
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm, Monday – Friday

The Cloud Technical Architect (Azure) is a pivotal member of the Cloud Services Delivery team, entrusted with transforming complex business requirements into secure, scalable, and innovative Azure solutions that drive customer success and advance SCC’s strategic objectives. This role is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end technical design, governance, and delivery of cloud projects, ensuring that every solution is robust, cost‑effective, and aligned with industry best practices and compliance standards.
As a technical authority, the Cloud Technical Architect works closely with Agile Delivery Managers, engineers, and a wide range of stakeholders, providing guidance and technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle—from initial concept and design through to implementation, optimisation, and ongoing support. The architect is expected to foster a collaborative and high‑performing environment, championing the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and automation to continually improve service quality and delivery efficiency.
A passion for cloud innovation and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential, as the role requires staying abreast of emerging Azure technologies, industry trends, and evolving customer needs. The Cloud Technical Architect is also responsible for mentoring and supporting the development of team members, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices across the organisation.
