A regional counter-terrorism unit is seeking an Intelligence Supervisor to lead a team in assessing and developing intelligence to protect the UK from terrorism. The role is part-time, offering 21 hours and 54 minutes a week, requiring strong supervisory and communication skills. Candidates should have experience in an intelligence environment and be willing to undergo security clearance. Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) is a collaboration of UK police forces working with the UK intelligence community to help protect the public and our national security by preventing, deterring and investigating terrorist activity.
Based at our modern offices near to Birmingham International Airport, the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit (CTPWM) coordinates the regional counter terrorist response and provides specialist support to police forces in Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Mercia and the West Midlands.
As an Intelligence Supervisor, you’ll be at the forefront of our work to confront terrorism and will lead a team receiving, assessing and developing intelligence in order to protect the UK from terrorist attacks. You’ll bring excellent team management skills to shape and develop your team and get the best from them.
You’ll work part time of 21hrs 54 mins a week over 3 days, with a minimum cover of a Monday and Friday. We are flexible in relation to the third day worked. There is an expectation that you’ll work flexibly out of these hours if circumstances require it. There may be a requirement at times to travel to other locations in the region.

Salary: £44,700 - £50,949 (Salary will be pro rata for part time hours) • Grade: 7
Working effectively with colleagues across counter terrorism, including partner agencies, you’ll provide intelligence support to major covert Counter Terrorism investigations.
You’ll develop and evaluate intelligence, ensuring that there is a quality assessment of threat, risk, harm and vulnerabilities and ensure your team handles and disseminates intelligence in a best practice manner to achieve comprehensive National Intelligence Model (NIM) compliant products.
You'll ensure evidential excellence with all relevant products and be required to attend court to give expert testimony if required.
You must be willing and able to attain the Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) certification in line with role.
⚠ This post requires British nationality (some dual nationalities may be ineligible) and Developed Vetting clearance. You will need to undergo additional security clearance checks, with the offer of employment being conditional on obtaining all of the necessary security clearances.
There are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.
