• Salary: £23,000 – £27,000 per annum (35 hours per week or pro rata, depending on experience)
• Hours: 25–35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional evening or weekend travel)

For over 30 years, Somerville Heart Foundation has provided peer support, advocacy, communication, and community for people with Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). Our vision is that people with ACHD live longer, happier and healthier lives.

Staff are expected to support the following adopted beliefs:

• Access to all necessary healthcare, delivered by appropriate specialists, quickly and easily (including mental health and psychological support where needed)
• An understanding of their condition to confidently make lifestyle choices and be joint decision-makers in their healthcare if desired
• Their voice heard in decisions affecting their care – "Nothing about us, without us"
• Knowledge about living with their condition (driving, pregnancy, menopause, exercise, etc.)
• The confidence to talk about their condition to family, friends, and in the workplace when required
• Recognition as a long‑term condition in the same manner as diseases such as diabetes
• The ability to live their best life

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our small, friendly team and expand our reach. The Digital Marketing, Communications and Operations Officer will play a key role in developing and supporting the charity's ongoing work, which is committed to campaigning and advocating for improved treatment for young people and adults living with a congenital heart condition.

• Develop relationships with stakeholders and engage with the people we support
• Build on our existing donor base and develop corporate and community partners
• Nurture excellent working relationships and identify opportunities to better engage our community
• Manage the website and social media platforms, delivering regular, engaging, and accessible digital audience‑led content in collaboration with staff and members
• Work flexibly and collaboratively across the charity to ensure alignment with our objectives and embrace innovation to overcome challenges and identify new opportunities
• Create, support, and implement robust communications and development strategies, and develop ambitious fundraising plans, including pipelines and income‑generation streams in line with our organisational strategy
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, compassion, creativity, time‑management, self‑discipline, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure while being receptive to direction and feedback
