Sales Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts

Join us as a Sales Manager with IHG Hotels & Resorts, working across our luxury hotels Kimpton Charlotte Square and InterContinental Edinburgh The George. This role is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Salary: £37,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a 20% annual bonus based on performance.

In this position you will proactively grow the pipeline in the Corporate segment across all revenue streams (Corporate Travel, Group, Conference & Events, Restaurants, Gym & Spa). You will uncover new opportunity accounts, manage relationships, and ensure penetration across existing accounts for both hotels. Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new inbound business and maintain a strong pipeline aligned with hotel objectives.
  • Grow revenue within named accounts across corporate transient, group, and conference & events revenue streams.
  • Achieve budgeted sales targets for rooms, conference & events.
  • Support delivery of the annual sales and marketing plan, ensuring ROI tracking for corporate market activities.
  • Lead rate negotiations and re-contracting for named accounts to meet financial KPIs.
  • Conduct client meetings, nurture relationships, and represent the hotel at trade shows and industry events.
  • Generate new business leads through networking, social media, and follow-up on lost or denied opportunities.
  • Manage standard sales activities including client hospitality, Fam Trips, and performance tracking tools.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in hotel commercial sales with strong sales achievement.
  • Solid understanding of hotel segmentation, key markets, and sectors in Edinburgh.
  • Experience with RFP responses and corporate transient, group, conference & banqueting segments (Edinburgh market desirable).
  • Strategic planning ability with commercial acumen and risk management skills.
  • Knowledge across all market segments: corporate, conference, and leisure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Delphi knowledge is a plus.
  • Demonstrated cross‑functional expertise and ability to grow customer relationships, including GSO networks.
