Role in our Family

Our team are the heart and soul of The Grand, without them The Grand is just a beautiful building. We pride ourselves on the warmth of our Yorkshire welcome that each one of our guests receive. As a Staff Chef, key to your role will be:

  • Prepare and serve daily lunch and dinner to a consistently high standard.
  • Create varied, seasonal menus that cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs.
  • Maintain immaculate food presentation and ensure all dishes are clearly labelled with allergens.
  • Keep all hot/cold counters and staff dining areas organised, clean, and well stocked.
  • Deliver a monthly themed Diversity Lunch in collaboration with Senior Chefs and HR.
  • Manage mise en place, stock rotation, and daily/weekly ordering.
  • Uphold strict hygiene and food safety standards, including temperature checks and FSMS logs.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow chefs and support a positive team culture.

About You

  • Experience in a professional kitchen (luxury hotel experience is a bonus).
  • Confident working daytime shifts (08:30–17:00, 5 days per week).
  • Passionate about delivering great food and understanding colleague dietary needs.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and allergens.
