This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of people like H, who require guidance in their transition to independent living.
Our organisation was established in the mid‑70s with the goal of providing outstanding social care for individuals with diverse support needs. We're dedicated to placing the people we support at the forefront of everything we do and providing customised care that suits their specific needs. Our core values of Life, Justice and Community drive us to make a positive impact on people's lives.
TMF is delighted to confirm that on 1st April 2025 it joined Enable, one of Scotland’s leading charities which has been championing the rights of individuals for over 70 years. Enable’s mission is to work for an equal society where everyone has the right to live, work and participate in the communities of their choice. Across the charity’s three pillars, they deliver self‑directed health and social care support with Enable Cares; employability and training services with Enable Works; and community projects and campaigns with Enable Communities.
At the Kelvin Project staff aim to offer a safe and supportive environment for young unaccompanied asylum seekers aged 16‑25 years, facilitating their transition into independent living while ensuring their safety and well‑being. Staff strive to empower the people we support to make informed decisions about their futures and create a respectful community where positive choices are encouraged and supported.
Help transform lives like H.
My name is H. I'm 17 years old. When I arrived in the UK, I had no money, food or belongings. I was driven in a taxi from England to Scotland and dropped off at the Kelvin Project. I was very scared, didn’t know what to expect and couldn’t speak any English.
Staff at Kelvin were so welcoming and they had an interpreter at the project waiting on my arrival, which helped take away all my fears. Staff helped me to live independently; they are patient and kind in supporting me with my basic English skills. After a few weeks I started S6 at the local high school, I absolutely loved it, and my English language has come a long way. Staff are now supporting me in preparing to start college in September. I am so excited to start my next journey and hope one day with staff support to move to student accommodation.
Are you ready to make a real difference to me and people like me?
