MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer based in County Derry. Our client is expanding its engineering team, and the successful candidate will play a key role in designing and developing mechanical components and systems for switchgear products used in power and infrastructure projects.
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for switchgear systems
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define design requirements and constraints.
- Produce detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
- Select suitable materials and manufacturing processes to balance performance, cost, and efficiency.
- Participate in design reviews and implement continuous design improvements.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and reports.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within the switchgear, electrical, or related engineering sectors.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Early finish Fridays (12pm).
