Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We’ve developed a unique power-to-fuel machine built for low-capex deployment powered entirely by utility-scale solar.Here’s our entire business plan . We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We already have individual operating modules of our machine, we’re funded, and we’re now building out the team to bring the vision together and deploy at scale.

We’re looking for a Field Mechanical Engineer to help run our 1MW pilot plant in rural Wiltshire, that consists of an alkaline electrolyser, direct-air-capture system, and sabatier reactor. The day to day of this role is to maintain safe operation of the plant, assist assembly and system commissioning, maintain equipment, and analyse performance data.

This pilot plant provides a blueprint for the UK to produce vast amounts of synthetic fuels and decarbonise heavy industry. The role:
  • Safe operation of plant
    • Safe start-up, operation & shutdown
    • Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) to bring the reactor & electrolyser on-line, achieve target temperature/pressure/flow, and shut down safely
    • Conduct pre-start checks (interlocks, alarms, safety valves, gas detectors)
  • Assist with assembly and commissioning of new hardware arriving on site
  • Diagnose routine equipment issues—plugged filters, seal leaks, pump cavitation, etc.
  • Execute cleaning or inspection procedures
  • Process monitoring and control
    • Track key parameters—temperature profiles, pressure drops, residence time, feed ratios, pH, conversion.
    • Calculate simple performance metrics (yield, carbon balance, specific energy) for daily reports
