Job description
Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team on a 4 day working week, providing design solutions for structural and integrated systems used in test rigs. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineers to translate test requirements into practical, robust designs. This role involves the full design cycle - from concept to commissioning - with direct engagement with clients, suppliers, and project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Translate test requirements into innovative and compliant design solutions.
  • Create and modify 3D models and drawings in CATIA V5, in line with Airbus Fuel and Landing Gear Test Facility Design Process.
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver integrated system solutions.
  • Present design concepts (preliminary and final) during reviews.
  • Liaise with clients to validate requirements and ensure project alignment.
  • Work with suppliers to confirm manufacturability of parts and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Support commissioning teams to guarantee correct fit and function of delivered components.
  • Provide technical guidance, constructive feedback, and checking support to other designers.
  • Strong proficiency in CATIA V5.
  • Advanced design and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
  • Proven background in aircraft design disciplines: structural design, systems integration, electrical systems, and fluid mechanical systems.
  • Previous experience working with aircraft systems and installations.
