Accounts Assistant (Entry-Level)
Job summary
A financial services provider is seeking a Remote Accounts Assistant to support financial operations, including invoice processing and bank reconciliation. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software like Xero and QuickBooks. Ideal candidates will have AAT qualifications and experience in bookkeeping. The salary range is £14 – £17 per hour depending on experience, with the advantage of working remotely.
Qualifications
- Preferably have AAT Level 2 or 3 or currently studying.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting support is a plus.
- Experience with VAT returns or payroll processing is desirable but not required.
Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices and credit notes accurately.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain financial records.
- Assist with payroll preparation and expense claims.
- Support with month-end journals and reports.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries.
- Maintain organised digital files for all transactions.

As a Remote Accounts Assistant, you’ll support day-to-day financial operations including invoice processing, bank reconciliation, and assisting with month-end reporting. You’ll work closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance in all accounting records.

AAT Level 2 or 3 (or currently studying) preferred
Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting support is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data entry, reconciliation)
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage)
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment
Experience with VAT returns or payroll processing (desirable but not required)
Salary: £14 – £17 per hour (depending on experience)
