Job summary
A leading optical systems company based in Southampton is seeking a candidate for a role primarily in optics and optoelectronics. This position involves designing and delivering laser systems, developing control electronics and firmware, and engaging in product delivery activities. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree, proficiency in C/C++, and extensive experience in electronic and optoelectronic design. This role offers a flexible work schedule within a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Experience developing embedded systems and writing firmware for microcontrollers.
- Experience with lock-in / phase detection techniques, especially in optical applications.
- Industrial design experience of PCB, electronics, firmware, and software applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver laser systems as part of the development team.
- Develop and test system electronics and firmware to specified requirements.
- Document production procedures and train production staff.
- Conduct research and development activities, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety policies.
