Job summary
A healthcare diagnostics organization in Aberdeen City is seeking a qualified sonographer to provide ultrasound services, including obstetric, general, and urological scans. The ideal candidate will adhere to high-quality standards while working both independently and in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include performing and reporting ultrasound scans, participating in clinical governance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Experience in NHS settings is preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to independently report obstetric, general, and urological ultrasounds.
- Experience working in NHS settings is a plus.
- Continued professional development in ultrasound practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide ultrasound scanning services and produce clinical reports.
- Participate in clinical governance and audits.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures.
To provide NOUS diagnostics to patients on behalf of the company whilst adhering to the highest quality standards of ultrasound Practice patient care, in accordance with company standards, procedures and protocols.
- To provide ultra sound scanning service and independently report obstetric, general, and urological ultrasound, with focus on renal and gynae scans. (Experience within NHS settings is a plus) in conjunction with other Sonographers and health care professionals.
- To independently perform ultrasound scanning duties to the required standards of Diagnostic World and client partners and to produce a clinical report for each ultrasound scan undertaken.
- To undertake any administrative duties necessary for speedy progression of patients and patient results e.g. Patient Escalations.
- To actively participate in matters concerning clinical governance, clinical audit and assessment.
- To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
- To undertake any equipment tests as part of Diagnostic Health's Quality assurance programme and to report any equipment faults to the service manager.
- To adhere to company policy and procedures in terms of health and safety, data protection and confidentiality and SOP's.
- To give full co-operation in any investigations of a complaint or untoward incident and comply with company procedure to that effect.
- To ensure that professional and technical knowledge/expertise is kept up to date and to maintain a portfolio to show evidence of personal professional development.
- To participate in individual performance review (appraisal) on an annual basis.
- To hold, and when required exchange with colleagues, company assets required to carry out service effectively.
- Second opinion on MSK discrepancy cases.
- Advice on a complaint/incident involving MSK.
- Assist with recruitment lead and introduce new.
- Sonographers on ad-hoc basis and attendance at BMUS stand.
