Job summary

Job description

In this role you will help shape the Group’s strategy by delivering clear actuarial insights across business planning, management information and risk reporting. You will contribute to the Group ORSA and run-off plans, and support the ongoing development and testing of projection models used for base projections, stress tests and scenario analysis, including updates linked to the BWS acquisition. You will also play a key part in delivering the Group’s Solvency II and IFRS actuarial reporting, ensuring accurate analysis that supports confident decision making.

Key responsibilities

Produce monthly GEC and Board MI packs, along with key performance reports such as LTM backing ratios, the Business Assessment dashboard, Sales Flash, and Retail SMT MI.

Support delivery of financial information for the Business Plan, Recovery Plan, forecasts, and inputs to external financial and regulatory reporting.

Provide actuarial input for the Group ORSA, run-off plans, and Solvency II internal and external reporting.

Support responses to regulatory and third-party information requests.

Develop new KPIs and MI requirements arising from the BWS acquisition.

Ensure timely testing, maintenance and enhancement of projection tools, processes, and controls.

Represent the team on projects and change initiatives, ensuring robust documentation, governance, and compliance with standards (including TASs).

What we’re looking for

Strong analytical judgement, able to evaluate issues and decide on the right course of action

Effective verbal and written communicator, able to present complex financial or actuarial concepts clearly to stakeholders and management.

Good interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate across teams.

Solid knowledge of insurance products and markets, including UK reporting regulations, annuities and LTM.

Detailed understanding of relevant business processes and awareness of the Group’s products and services.

Experience working within actuarial reporting functions and supporting regulatory or financial reporting requirements.

Able to manage smaller defined projects and coordinate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
