A veterinary care practice in Hertfordshire is seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse. This role offers a chance to lead a clinical team, ensure high standards of care, and foster patient and client relationships. Candidates need to be a qualified RVN with excellent communication and organisational skills. The position also features a competitive salary of £32,000 - £35,000, along with various benefits including funded CPD and pension scheme.

My client is seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our close-knit, professional team. Nestled in the charming Hertfordshire, this practice is designed with state-of-the-art facilities, including separate wards for cats and dogs, an isolation unit, ultrasound, digital X-ray, and a dedicated sterile theatre. The in‑house laboratory is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, ensuring provision of top‑notch care. The clientele are fantastic, with a high percentage of insured pets, allowing you to focus on delivering the best possible service through extended appointment times.
As the Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be at the heart of the practice, ensuring the smooth daily operation and maintaining high standards of care for both patients and clients. Your responsibilities include assisting in theatre and running nurse clinics, managing and motivating the clinical team, developing the skills of the RVNs and VCAs, conducting appraisals and auditing clinical care.
Excellent communication and organisational skills; pride in delivering high‑quality care. Keen interest in the business side of the practice and enthusiasm to motivate your team to achieve their goals. Ability to embrace all aspects of the Veterinary Nurse role.
Choose between full or part‑time hours. No out‑of‑hours work and only one in three Saturdays, compensated with either extra pay or time off in lieu.
