Overview

Looking for production jobs in Kent? We are looking for a Nightshift Production Technician to develop and implement innovative product and process solutions for the injection moulding areas. The role will involve increasing efficiency and reduce scrap, with particular emphasis on automation.

We want the successful candidate to be a hands‑on leader, optimising existing jobs by taking our technical plastics processing expertise to scientific moulding level and automating repetitive tasks.

Department: Production Support
Duties & Responsibilities for Nightshift Production Technician
  • Ensure the correct and safe operation of machines and equipment and that all safety procedures are observed.
  • To lead by example to set excellent housekeeping standards.
  • To ensure jigs, fixtures and end of arm tooling are available for production and correctly set up to costed standard.
  • Enhance the technical capability in the business by attending training where required and mentoring and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • To load tools and start up machines ensuring the product meets required quality standard within costed cycle time.
  • To keep machines running efficiently and trouble‑shoot as required.
  • Carry out minor machine, jig and tool repairs/maintenance (including plaque/insert changes).
  • Maintain documentation to help improve processes (Setting sheets, BOM).
  • To identify, propose and implement automation solutions for existing processes.
  • Assist the Sales, Technical & Operations teams to ensure new products are implemented effectively.
  • Trialling new products and to ensure new projects are delivered and implemented effectively to manufacturing.
  • To identify and solve the root cause of processing issues using continuous improvement principles.
  • To be a key member of the operations team responsible for raising standards across the manufacturing area.
  • Any other duties reasonably assigned.

Full‑Time Hours: 37.5 paid hours per week

Annual Leave: 22 days of annual leave, plus all bank holidays

Located in Ramsgate, Kent, our 11,000 sqm manufacturing site boasts 16 injection moulding machines ranging 60 to 1,700 tons and 11 blow moulding machines ranging 10 to 200 litres.

As we grow, we continue to invest in new equipment and robotics to maintain Flambeau Europe as a leader in the plastic processing industry.

Flambeau have also developed our warehousing and distribution facilities and are able to pick, pack, and ship to our network of merchants, whole‑sellers, and retailers throughout the UK and Europe.
