We offer exciting career opportunities in various locations, including our offices in Hemel Hempstead, London, Tonbridge, Bristol, Bath, and Exeter, and we are also open to hybrid/remote working for the right candidates.

This includes assessing the characteristics, history and potential of landscapes; preparing management plans and strategies, including biodiversity net gain; advising on designs and plans for developments; and providing management‑based solutions to site issues, including the assessment, analysis and resolution of practical landscape issues.

You will be joining a highly regarded and award‑winning landscape planning, design and management team that has an extensive and enviable track record of providing services to projects at all scales, from Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects to local‑scale development. We draw on knowledge from Building with Nature Approved Assessors and qualified Green Flag Award judges to enhance green infrastructure and the built environment.

  • Advise on management and maintenance considerations in respect of designs and proposals.
  • Prepare and implement landscape and ecological management plans, with a knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain requirements.
  • Prepare and implement invasive species management plans.
  • Prepare and implement historic landscapes/estate management plans.
  • Advise on compliance with relevant policy, legislation, good practice and relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities (Principal and Above)
  • Lead and innovate: take professional lead in landscape management, guiding and mentoring staff through their professional development. Ensure the retention and growth of technical expertise within the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Collaborate and grow: work closely with our Landscape Planning, Landscape Design, Town & Mineral Planning and EIA leads to expand our portfolio in differing sectors across the UK. Build on our stellar reputation for high-quality Planning, EIA, and Landscape services. This role involves driving the growth of our project pipeline, nurturing client relationships, managing resources, and ensuring the delivery of top‑tier work through collaboration across Stephenson Halliday and the broader RSK Group.
  • Inspire and lead technically: provide technical leadership within your specialty, setting the standard for methodologies and approaches. Inspire your team by promoting excellence, encouraging rigorous review and innovation, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
Person Specification
